GNU VAT disagreements won't affect KZN - Hlabisa
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
IFP leader Velenkosini Hlabisa says he believes
that whatever happens in the national government will not affect KwaZulu-Natal.

Hlabisa has been speaking at a briefing in Durban on Monday.
There are cracks in the Government of National Unity following disagreements on VAT hikes.
The DA, the ANC's largest coalition partner, did not support the fiscal framework when it was passed in Parliament last week.

The IFP, which has had a working relationship with the DA in KZN, voted with the ANC to adopt it.
Hlabisa says the disputes in the GNU should not be allowed to filter down.
"There will be no need to conflict the national with provincial or local government because by doing so, you are creating instability and if you love your people, you can't subject them into instability.
"The MEC responsible for finance in KwaZulu-Natal is a DA member of [the] provincial legislature. He has tabled his budget and I'm sure he's looking forward to the approval of the budget."
