Senior eThekwini officials to meet with Durban residents over water supply
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Senior eThekwini officials will on Saturday meet with residents desperately pleading for water relief in Durban's northern parts.

Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda told the media they've introduced interventions now to get to the bottom of the supply predicament, that's left some household taps dry for almost 100 days.
Frustrated residents came out in protest recently.
Durban North, Tongaat, Phoenix, Umhlanga and Verulam are some of the affected areas.
Kaunda says intervention teams are on the ground searching for leaks and blockages.
“These interventions are expected to be completed in the second week of February. However, some areas may have their water supply restored earlier as interventions are progressing.

“To further clarify our interventions to address the water issues in Phoenix and Verulam, the leadership of the Municipality will be meeting the community of these areas on Saturday, 27 January 2024 at Shastri Park Community Hall at 4pm.”
Kaunda will meet with other communities on Sunday
