Durban police investigate after suspect shot and killed

Greenwood Park police have opened a murder and attempted murder case following a shooting in Durban North in which one suspect was killed.

KZN SAPS spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says private security officers had been pursuing a car with four suspects on Queen Nandi Drive in the Kenville area this afternoon.
Two other men were injured the incident. "It is reported that security guards were following a vehicle whose occupants were allegedly seen discharging firearms in Sydenham earlier on.
"It is also reported that when security guards approached the vehicle, the suspects opened fire, and a shootout ensued. One person died and preliminary investigations have revealed that he was wanted in a September 24 case of murder in Kwamashu."
The two injured suspects were taken to the hospital for treatment. The fourth suspect was arrested and two firearms were recovered.

On the north coast - Umhlali police are looking for the gunmen behind a shooting that left two people dead and another injured.
Officers were called out to a home in Shayamoya near Shakaskraal this morning.
" Two men, aged 21 and 22 years old, died at the scene, whilst a 27 -year -old woman sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was conveyed to a hospital for treatment. The motive of the shooting is unknown."
