Two severely injured in Durban North pit bull attack

Two people severely injured in a dog attack at a home in Durban North are being treated in hospital.

It's understood the homeowner and her domestic worker both suffered bite injuries after her pit bull-cross-staffy in Park Hill mauled them on Monday night.
"They found that a pit bull-cross-staffy had attacked a 54-year-old domestic worker who was cleaning the yard,” Kait Hagerman, who is with the DRK EMS team that attended to the victims.

"The owner of the residence came out of the house trying to stop the dog from attacking, and unfortunately the dog turned on her, a 55-year-old female.
"Both victims sustained multiple dog bites, both their legs and arms. The owner is in a serious condition, and the domestic worker is in a critical condition."
The police and the SPCA were also called to the home to assist with the animal.
